4th of July Weekend - InterDependence Day Celebration

Interdependence Day

This 4th of July will be the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.

This 4th of July, we invite you to join us to go beyond blind patriotism and flag waving to explore what "We the People" envision for this country.

How can we come together to celebrate what unites us and explore what strengthens the state of our union?

For the past several years we’ve celebrated the 4th of July as “Interdependence Day” here at Sacred Mountain Waters to acknowledge that we don’t stand alone. As the saying goes “United we Stand and Divided We Fall”.

In the spirit of Purple Nation, we'll bring together the best of Red and Blue to create the common ground of purple by –

  • Sharing our prayers in a traditional Lakota sweat lodge.
  • Singing along to the amazing and inspired music of the Freedom Family Band and Noah Proudfoot.
  • Sharing meals together.
  • Swimming in the natural swimming pond and rivers.
  • Hiking the 200 plus acres of rivers and elevated views.
  • Exploring how we can authentically and compassionately communicate together.
  • Expressing and releasing our grief and disillusionment during a community grief ritual.
  • Revisioning a new America during a peaceful conversation about the state of our union.
  • Dancing to DJ sets in the LOVEvolution Lodge.
  • Relaxing in the hot tubs and sauna.

Let's go deep and explore what being an American can be.

Please bring food and beverages to share, instruments and swimsuits and a peace loving heart. We’ll have burners for cooking, coolers with ice and a grill under the big tent for those who would like to cook.
