Join Us July 4th for Interdependence Day – A day of Peaceful Prayer, Sacred Activism and Celebration

Purple Peace

This 4th of July do you feel the call to skip flag waving, fireworks and blind patriotism and gather together in sacred activism to make a powerful prayer for peace and celebrate what we love?

If so, join us at Sacred Mountain Waters on July 4th for Interdependence Day - A day of Peaceful Prayer, Sacred Activism and Celebration.

For the past several years at Sacred Mountain Waters we’ve celebrated the 4th of July as “Interdependence Day” to acknowledge that we don’t stand alone. As the saying goes “United we Stand and Divided We Fall”.

This year we’ll be hosting a Lakota sweat lodge at Sacred Mountain Waters starting at noon on Friday, July 4th. We encourage those participating to fast prior to this lodge in solidarity with those who are without food in the wake of violent conflict.

Then, following the lodge, in the spirit of Emma Goldman who is associated with the expression “If I can’t dance, I don’t want to be a part of your revolution”, let’s share songs of peace and unity as we sing, dance and share delicious food to raise the vibe and celebrate what we love and value.

There will also be plenty of opportunity to enjoy the rivers, pond, sauna, hot tub and land.

And in the spirit of Purple Nation – bringing together the best of Red and Blue to create the common ground of purple – all peace lovers of all political beliefs and religion are invited to share peaceful conversations about the current state of the nation and world. Right now our differences should look small in comparison to what we all have at stake and in common.

We believe it’s time to stop running from our shadows and face them, heal them and transcend them in ourselves and our collective. Real patriotism is being willing to see the deficiencies in our nation and remedy them - not ignore them and indulge in myths.

Let’s have real conversations, share our different perspectives and find the common ground to transcend the “divide and conquer” game.

By committing to peace in ourselves, our conversations and actions, we can act like the neutron rods in a nuclear reactor that slow down and cool the nuclear reaction to prevent a meltdown.

Those who would like to camp overnight Friday are welcome to do so. There are also private bedrooms and beds available in the guest house by donation to the LOVEvolution Fellowship. Text or call Patrick Hennessey to reserve a room/bed.

If this call resonates with you, please join us and invite your friends and family and community, including organizations and groups that will support peace. Also if you know of groups or coalitions that are taking action to stand for peace at this time that we can unite with, let us know.

Please bring food and beverages to share, instruments and swimsuits and a peace loving heart. We’ll have burners for cooking, coolers with ice and a grill under the big tent for those who would like to cook.

This event is free. But donations are always welcome for our non profit LOVEvolution Fellowship at https://lovevolutionfellowship.org/ministry/donate

May these wars serve as catalyst for unity and peace and a call to action – to stand up for peace and celebrate what we love and value.
