Come and pray together as a community in a traditional 4 tobacco prayer meeting Saturday August 10th facilitated by Tito Avila. We will be communing with the spirit of hikuri and supporting the intention of our dear brother and sponsor for this ceremony Matthew Bullstanding.
Facilitator:
Tito is a mestizo Roadman of Teocali Quetzalcoatl Native American Church and Fire Chief of Xiuozelometztli Moondance, working with hikuri for the last 13 years and offering temazcal sweat lodges in various communities around the world. He is also a priest of the Bakongo tradition, certified Yoga/Neigong instructor, TBJ Tracker School Scout, and seasoned medicine musician.

Matthew Bullstanding is a Roadman that has been in service to the WNC community since 2019 and is asking for support in a renewal ceremony to pray about his life, refresh himself, his sacred instruments, and altar.
Steps to Physically & Emotionally Prepare You for Ceremony:
Eat consciously in the few days prior to the ceremony, and try to stick with whole foods. Fruits and vegetables, rice and whole grains, and fresh juices are recommended.
Avoid excess salt & sugar, processed foods, fried or spicy foods, onions & garlic, coffee, alcohol, cigarettes, and any other drugs (both prescription & recreational). If currently taking prescription medication please discuss this with the organizers prior to attending. It's also recommended to abstain from sexual energies for 3-4 days prior to ceremony. As always, drink plenty of water and get good sleep. Please eat WELL and HEALTHY up until 4pm the day of the ceremony. A light soup will be served in the hours prior.
To Prepare the Mind:
In the days leading up to the ceremony, it's beneficial to steer clear of situations that might evoke negative emotions or stress. Instead, focus on calming your mind through activities like meditation, journaling, yoga, Tai Chi, or relaxing baths. It's wise to avoid exposure to tv or any sources of spiritual and emotional pollution from mass culture.
Prioritize completing any unfinished tasks and try to resolve conflicts in your relationships. This will help clear your mind of burdens and distractions. Setting clear intentions is highly recommended; reflect on what you hope to gain from the experience. Consider which aspects of your life need resolution and what kind of healing and knowledge you seek. Be honest with yourself about why you're welcoming this medicine into your life. Your intentions will serve as a guide, enhancing your learning and deepening your experience.
Prescription Medicine & Drugs:
Drugs and medications may interact and cause side effects when used together with the plant medicine. It is advised to stop using these substances and allow ample time for them to clear from your system before the ceremony. Please discuss any prescription, over-the-counter, or recreational drugs you have been taking with the organizers before the ceremony. All information shared will remain confidential and will only be disclosed to the medicine person for consultation and advice. Specifically, refrain from the following for at least 2 weeks:
I. Any medicine containing MAO inhibitors (neural enzyme monoamine oxidase) or SSRI's, i.e. antidepressants such as Prozac, Effexor, Zoloft, Wellbutrin, etc.
II. Sedatives, tranquilizers, antihistamines, narcotics, amphetamines, decongestants, allergy medications, cold medications, diet pills, asthma-inhalers, dopamine, carbamazipine, some antihypertensive medications, pseudoephedrine, and ephedrine.
III. Alcohol and Recreational Drugs.
